Equality and diversity training

Equality, diversity and discrimination training

When it comes to places of work, there is legislation in place to ensure that we all meet our responsibilities in relation to equality and diversity, and one way to make sure we meet these responsibilities is through training.

Now we’ve all heard and used the words ‘equality’ and ‘diversity’ before, but what do they actually mean and how do they affect you as an employer or employee?

Well if you take the words on their own they are actually quite different, equality is the state of being equal, especially in rights and opportunities.
Diversity is the state of being different or varied.

However these 2 things should not be seen as opposite to each other, after all people can be different but they still have the same rights.

Equality and diversity training: what is covered?

This equality and diversity training starts by taking a look at what equality and diversity actually is and details the accompanying legislation that is in place in the UK.

It then goes on to discuss what we mean by the term ‘discrimination’, how to promote diversity in the workplace and society as a whole, and discusses sterotyping and prejudices that exist.

The course then takes at look at discrimination in the workplace and institutions as a whole, how this needs to change and how we need to value others, no matter their race, religion, beliefs, background, education or status.

This equality and diversity training course is just one of a variety of online business skills courses that are essential for today’s workplace.

What our students say

Wonderful course, very easy to follow. Got me up to speed in no time at all on the basics of fire safety. Would recommend to others wishing to learn more about the basic principles of fire safety in the workplace.

I enjoyed this course and found the interactive videos easy to follow.  The course content is well thought out and provided lots of useful information.  I passed each module with flying colours and feel I now understand the basics when it comes to asbestos awareness.  Would highly recommend this online course.

The level 1 food safety for catering course was easy to follow and I learned a lot.  I enjoyed the way the course was delivered and how it was broken down into small modules, which made it easier to learn.  I have since completed level 2 food safety too.
