Safeguarding Children course: what is covered?
This Safeguarding Children course covers some of the most important aspects of care and supervision.
As well as facts, figures and details around the risks to children (especially vulnerable children), it provides students with knowledge about the most common types of abuse, how to identify signs of abuse, and how to best minimise the risks faced by under 16s.
At the start of the course, students are given a broad introduction to safeguarding children.
This is followed by a close look at different types of abuse, the likely perpetrators of any abuse, and why children may find it easier to keep quiet than tell someone about what they are enduring.
In module three, the focus switches to enable students to gain a detailed insight into some of the most frequent signs of abuse.
Module four covers the practices and protocols in place if you suspect a child you know is being abused.
Finally, the fifth module of the course examines specific safeguarding legislation and a carer’s legal obligations under these laws.
